The family needed an additional bedroom and increased living space. The lot is extra deep for the area, creating an opportunity to expand the home into the backyard while still allowing ample outdoor space. The addition was carefully planned to tie in with the existing floor plan and includes a new master suite, family room, office, laundry, and storage rooms. The new footprint embraces a courtyard for outdoor living space transitioning into the backyard. The interiors of both the addition and the renovated existing spaces embrace modern sensibilities while remaining respectful to the original details of the home. The same principles were applied to the home’s exterior with the selection of new siding materials and a distinct color scheme.
